Giulio Massimo Gallana *1999

I currently live and work in Bern, Switzerland. Inspired by nature’s ability to grow, learn and evolve, I strive to tap into this dynamic energy in my work. This approach to life compels me to continuously expand my horizons, seeking to develop my knowledge, skills, try new things and find balance between intuition and reflection. So far, my practice consists in combining a range of techniques including painting, drawing, digital software, printing, spraying, dyeing, and sewing to create abstract, visual art. A background in textile design serves as a base for my multidisciplinary practice.

Finding myself in awe by the beautifully paradoxical nature of life, I often delve into themes of duality - seeking to illuminate the transformative potential found in contrasts and the gray areas in-between. Life and Death is the most quintessential and obvious embodiment of duality, but also Conservation and Progression, the Haptic and Intangible, Fiction and Reality, the Conscious and Subconscious as well as Beginnings and Endings (…) are opposites that fascinate and inspire me.
